Abbey is a passionate Vocal, Piano, and Ukulele instructor who is hard working, helpful, and experienced. She has been studying piano and voice for most of her life, and is currently majoring in Music Education. Her main instrument is classical voice but she loves all music. She has participated in solo/ensemble groups for many genres of music- classical, jazz, musical theatre, and pop. She has taught previously as an online voice teacher and has lots of experience performing and teaching as well.
One thing that sets her apart is that she loves to include challenges AND fun in every learning experience. She expects her students to work hard and see results, but also wants her students to engage in what they are passionate about, or even explore what their passions are! She hopes to provide every student with the opportunity to be enthusiastic, creative, and positive about their music abilities. In order to provide that opportunity, she hopes to introduce and direct them to many kinds of repertoire and exercises, so they can discover what music means to them.
She is a believer that the student and teacher must work together to create something beautiful. One of her strengths is that she is a young teacher, who is open to learning more herself. In the classroom, she does not dictate what the student should or should not think about what they are learning, but facilitates an environment that provides opportunities for experiencing growth and joy. She wants each of her students to feel comfortable, have meaningful experiences with music making, and enjoy the sweet self-expression and self-improvement that music learning can offer them.
