Piano, Voice, Songwriting | Farmington

Alissa is a Vocal, Piano and Songwriting teacher who has been singing since she could talk. Alissa graduated with a Creative Arts: Music—Vocal Performance degree in 2017 and has spent the time since then working with youth students to become confident in their musical abilities and traveling with her previous rock band, Final Greetings. She has studied and performed vocally in many genres, including rock, pop, indie, folk, arias, musical theater and worship.

Alissa’s experience in songwriting and performing throughout the Western United States and Eastern Europe, along with her musical theater expertise, has given her a drive to help her students feel comfortable on-stage and show the heart of their music. It’s one thing to sing or play a song, but another to believe and communicate it.

Alissa loves to work with all ages, and tailors her teaching experience to each student. One of the things she believes in teaching is making sure the student feels heard. Alissa takes the time to hear what they want to learn, and adjusts lessons to help achieve their goals. She also challenges them by playing around with musical genres that they might not normally try, because sometimes in trying something new you find something you’re unexpectedly good at. Alissa enjoys incorporating fun games and silly exercises that will relax students and help them feel safe to sing loud and proud in an effort to grow.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
