“Music is a language and I hope to give you the tools to enter the conversation”

Allison may be new to the Utah area, but she is NOT new to all things singing! Allison has a lifetime of musical experiences ranging from Classical to Contemporary.

As a child, Allison was always making up songs around the house, singing along to the radio in the car and looking for ways to be in the spotlight. Though she can’t say much has changed now that she is an adult. In high school, Allison regularly sang in All State, All Eastern and All National Honor Choirs, as well as state Solo/Ensemble. She also never shied away from jumping on stage for open mic or karaoke. However, she realized that her true passion was in music teaching.

Allison received a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from the University of Delaware in May 2020. In her time at UD, Allison took Classical voice lessons and sang in one of the nation's well renowned collegiate choirs, the UD Chorale. These experiences gave her the opportunity to sing on some incredible stages both domestically and abroad; including Carnegie Hall.

Additionally, Allison held a leadership position in her collegiate A Cappella group, the MelUDees. This group sang all popular songs and ended up winning their International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in February 2020. Allison was a student in the first ever UD songwriting for teachers class, where she learned how to take her love of songwriting and adequately teach it to others. Allison’s original music can be heard on SoundCloud.

In music school, Allison learned that her philosophy of teaching was entirely focused on meeting her student’s social-emotional needs. As a complex person herself, Allison realizes that each of her students are going through their own unique life experiences and it is her job to meet them where they are, help them identify their goals and lead them to meeting those goals.

Allison values herself on being her true authentic self when teaching. She strives to create an environment where her students feel they can be their authentic selves. Whether it’s singing Classical or Contemporary, Ukulele or Songwriting, Allison cannot wait to share her love of music with you!

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
