Sydney is a Cache Valley, Utah, native who gained a love of singing at a young age. She has been involved with school and church choirs throughout her teens and into adulthood. While working toward a degree at Utah State University, she continued to pursue her love of music by taking many music classes, including voice techniques, vocal pedagogy, introduction to musical theater, and private voice lessons. After graduating from USU, Sydney continued on for a Master of Library Science degree and now teaches an online course for Southern Utah University.
Right out of college, Sydney and her husband spent two and a half years in Las Vegas. During this time, Sydney continued to share her love of music and singing by starting her own home studio, Think Singing Studio. She also worked for Hollywood Kids Academy, a dancing, acting, and singing studio for kids, where she realized a passion for teaching singing to children and teens. Her goal as a teacher is to help every student reach his or her potential and to become confident through learning.
When Sydney is not teaching or singing, she enjoys spending time curled up with a good book, watching musicals, such as Singing in the Rain, Roberta, Newsies, and Wicked, and hanging out with her husband and two sons.
