Anthony

Piano, Voice | Bountiful

Anthony is a dedicated voice teacher, music educator, and stage director with a passion for helping students develop strong, expressive voices. He holds formal training (Bachelors in Voice and Music Education, Utah State University, 2011; Masters in Voice, University of Oklahoma, 2013; Doctor of Musical Arts in Opera and Voice, University of Maryland, 2016) in vocal performance, music education, and theatre, and has been actively involved in both teaching and directing since 2005. His career spans classical and contemporary vocal styles, including opera, musical theatre, and contemporary commercial music. As a bilingual educator fluent in Spanish and English, he is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Since beginning his teaching career, Anthony has worked with students of all ages, specializing in voice training, dramatic coaching, and stagecraft. His approach integrates insights from motor learning theory, acting techniques such as Chekhov and Laban’s psychological gesture, and physical disciplines like mime and mask. He also emphasizes performance readiness, helping students build confidence for auditions, live performances, and recording sessions. At the heart of his teaching philosophy is storytelling—helping students connect emotionally to their material while developing a healthy, flexible vocal technique. Whether working with classical singers, musical theatre performers, or contemporary artists, he encourages creativity, authenticity, and a fearless approach to performance. His students leave lessons not only with improved vocal skills but also with a deeper understanding of artistic expression and stage presence.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
