Piano, Voice | Lehi / Highland, South Jordan

Davis is a performing artist and teacher in the greater Salt Lake Area. Throughout life, Davis has participated in many ensembles, pop/rock band groups, concert gigs, and stage workshops. Accomplished in musical theatre, he has performed on professional, stock, community and school stages, as well as music directing/staging shows and groups. He has been a studio vocalist, voice actor, and arranger. Trained in teaching many voice styles, he has taught students in multiple genres and formats. He is grateful to have worked under many great teachers, performers and coaches, such as Matt Edwards and Mary Saunders-Barton. Davis was an instructor at Snow College in musical theatre and as music director, and now currently teaches private voice. Before teaching at Snow, he received a Bachelor of Commercial Music with a minor in business, where he studied with Brian Stucki, renowned tenor. Additionally, he studied piano and composition with Dr. Trent Hanna, performing original pieces in concert. You would have seen Davis on stage most recently as Tobias in Sweeney Todd (UVU/Noorda Center), Boy/Peter in Peter & The Starcatcher (Creekside Theatre Fest), and Solicitor 2/Octet Tenor 1 in A Christmas Carol (Hale Centre Theatre Sandy). Other favorite production credits include: The Last Five Years, Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods (as music director/conductor/show pianist), Lucky Stiff (Emcee/Man#1), and The Sound of Music (Rolf).

If not performing or privately coaching, he is researching and improving his work and artistry, and always singing! Davis aspires to always learn, perform and teach as much as he can. He loves working with singers that want to sing anything; there is no right or wrong choice. His most favorite thing is helping singers belt in a healthy consistent way, and working with singer/actors on performance tools to manifest their best confident self. “Your voice is already inside of you, so we need to free it up and let it be everything it can be. You can sing any style with the same voice. It’s all about expression and openness, no matter the song.” Davis creates an environment where students can find themselves through comfortable, yet free discovery. He looks forward to a lifetime of learning with students, influencing lives through love and connection, and helping people become the complete package they both aspire to and can be.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
