Ellen is a piano teacher and vocal coach. She studied vocal performance at the University of Utah and has even performed with the Utah Symphony. She has played piano for 22 years and loves to sing and play. She is trained classically in piano and voice but enjoys all genres. Ellen has taught piano and voice for 7 years and loves to see her students grow and fall in love with music!
Ellen likes to teach students who are excited about music and are willing to try new things. She loves to teach outside the box and work on confidence and enjoyment of music and performing. Ellen is a foster/adoptive mom and has a lot of experience working with neurodivergent kids and loves to work with them! She also believes that anyone can succeed in music no matter their starting point!
Ellen likes to focus on technical skills in both voice and piano. She believes that a strong knowledge of theory and technique can provide a musician with the skills to be creative. She loves to cater her teaching to each individual student and likes to shake things up when a student needs a change in learning style. Lessons will always have a positive and fun environment so that the students are excited about music and confident in their skills!
