Ethan

Guitar, Ukulele | Pleasant Grove

Ethan has been teaching since 2015, and loves teaching, playing, composing, and performing. He was the guitarist for the BYU Young Ambassadors, in which he toured the U.S. and South Korea. He plays in several local bands including SHELLE and 19 Miles Per Hour, who have played at notable events including Forkfest, Rootstech, "The Velour" Battle of the Bands, and won BYU's "The Wall" Battle of the Bands. Ethan's real world experience in the music scene is a major asset in helping students learn confidence, stage presence, networking, and performing. Playing music never felt like a chore to Ethan because he figured out how to love it! He takes the same approach by helping students connect to the music so they can find what they individually love about playing. No matter the style, students will be able to learn their favorite songs, as well as techniques so they can improvise and really express some creativity on their instrument. He abides by the phrase "work hard/play hard" to create a fun environment while maintaining high expectations, so you'll be able to see real progress. Of course, the student comes first, so any specific requests concerning songs, styles, techniques, etc are the first priority. Ethan is very open minded towards individual needs and is always willing to discuss with students and parents anything they have questions about. He believes in continual learning and is always seeking new ways to improve. With experience working in special needs and a background of an Experience Design degree, his first priority is ensuring you have an amazing experience in your musical journey here at The Piano Place. Ethan is looking forward to jamming with you soon!

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
