Drums | St George

Meet Gavin, a passionate musician with a strong background in the world of marching percussion and the rock/alternative genre. While attending Fruita Monument High school, he was an integral part of the marching band, wind ensemble, and drumline. He continues to perform in various ensembles today as he pursues his musical education degree at Utah Tech University. Gavin's teaching philosophy is built on a foundation of encouragement and growth. He understands that the road to mastery is paved with mistakes, and he instills in his students the belief that these very mistakes are crucial for improvement. With a focus on creating a safe and nurturing learning environment, Gavin fosters an atmosphere where students are empowered to ask questions, seek guidance, and openly express their musical challenges. He also firmly believes that the joy of music should be at the heart of every practice session. Gavin aims to create a space where students can not only become skilled musicians but also find fulfillment, joy, and lasting inspiration in their musical pursuits.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
