Islay has a passion for music and art. Islay is from Utah, but her family is from Guatemala. She speaks Spanish fluently and is currently learning French. In her spare time she enjoys playing the piano and ukulele, and also sings. She’s been playing the piano since the age of 6 and has studied music theory, music esthetics, and music history. She has also taken choir classes and was nominated to join the Utah Ambassador of Music in 2017. Currently, she is studying business management with a minor in music. Previously, she pursued studies in psychology for two years before switching majors to business management.
Islay has a strong affinity for working with children, fostering their creativity. For over two years, she served as a Certified Registered Behavior Technician, working primarily with children with disabilities, including those with ADHD. Islay firmly believes that music serves as a powerful medium for everyone, especially children, to connect and express themselves from a young age. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, dancing, singing, playing soccer, and serving others. Islay is always eager to learn something new whenever possible. To her, music is a bridge that connects people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, bringing joy and happiness to others.
