Jessica started playing piano years before her feet could even reach the pedal, and has been passionate about music ever since. She was trained with a classical background, and has won many statewide and nationwide piano competitions throughout her years of playing as both a solo performer and as a soloist for an orchestra. Before joining The Piano Place, she taught piano for almost 6 years with over 30 students, all of whom improved their musical skills tremendously and developed a passion for music throughout the course of their lessons. She loves teaching students of all levels and takes an individualized approach towards every student- whether they are just beginning to learn the wonders of music, or if they are preparing a sonata or an etude for a competition. Every student is unique, and she believes it is important to personalize every lesson to maximize both the enjoyment and efficiency of the learning process.
Her passion is to teach students that are eager to challenge themselves to learn something new and exciting, even if it takes a bit of patience. She has helped many students not only perfect a piece technically, but transform it into a musical performance. She believes that learning an instrument is an amazing form of self-expression, and it is her goal to create an exciting and fun environment to do so in. It is her teaching philosophy that, above all, every student should enjoy their experience learning piano so that they are motivated to practice and improve. Jessica is extremely dedicated to celebrating her students’ achievements and making sure they are always inspired to learn more.
