Mike

Guitar, Piano, Songwriting | Bountiful, Farmington

Mike has been learning and working in music for most of his life. He started learning piano at 7, guitar at 11, started taking voice lessons (for both classical and contemporary) at 16, and started writing songs at 15. He now works towards becoming a professional singer/songwriter, while always trying to learn more. He has been in multiple choirs, has taken music theory and songwriting classes, and has taken voice lessons from a Broadway trained vocalist at BYU. Mike hopes to instill the same love for music and creativity that he has learned over the years into the students he teaches. He does this by letting the students control the pace and the songs they learn, while giving them options and pushing them in a good way. He gladly allows all parents of the student to sit in on lessons with him so they too can see how and what their child is learning and let them in on the learning process. He encourages his students not to let their mistakes hold them back or worry them, but instead be part of their learning process.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
