Lizzy Newbold was raised by good parents, good food, and good music. She is originally from Manhattan, NYC, but grew up in Danbury, Connecticut about an hour outside of the city. Her weekends and summers were often filled with trips into the city to watch Broadway shows, and the countless street performers outside of the theatre. At home, though, much of Lizzy’s formative years were spent in rehearsals, lessons, and performances for piano, and various choirs, musicals, and solo performances. Lizzy is currently a senior at Brigham Young University graduating in English with a minor in Communications, but her love of music led her to audition and participate heavily in BYU Noteworthy, the university’s internationally acclaimed, all-female a cappella group. Much of her college experience has included long hours of rehearsals rewarded with concert performances, tours, and YouTube videos with views in the millions. Noteworthy has recorded multiple studio albums and singles, and Lizzy is featured on multiple tracks as a soloist. Lizzy additionally performs with Synergy, a party band under Toned Entertainment and Green Light Booking, and LOVES it.
Her hope in teaching is to transmit the same light, heart, and energy that is found in live performance into a pure and enduring love for music, and a recognition of the born ability in each of her students to excel in it. It is important to her that each of her students honor their unique musical gifts, and build solid foundations that are sure to help them succeed wherever their musical pursuits take them. Lizzy lives in Provo, and loves to run, read, pet dogs and send lots of Marco Polos. She is delighted to be a part of the Piano Place team!
