Sammie is currently studying Elementary Education at Utah Tech University. She has spent most her life filling her time with music, and plans on getting a minor in it. Growing up she spent her time in all different areas of music, going from jazz band practice to choir concerts, playing beautiful fiddle and classical violin pieces, writing songs about funny situations, composing music to express how she feels, figuring out her favorite songs on the piano by ear, and trying any instrument she could get her hands on. Her main instruments are piano, violin, and ukulele. Although it's a big part of her life, there's so much more to Sammie than just her music. In her free time you can find her exploring the outdoors, crocheting cute little animals, or going on fun adventures with friends. Sammie is beyond excited to start teaching at The Piano Place. She began teaching violin and piano her junior year of High School, then subbed for her mom piano lessons her senior year. That year she also interned in a 4th grade class, where she taught the students ukulele for the last two weeks of school. She loves to teach because it's an opportunity for her to share her passion for music with others. Her goal as a teacher is to never let her students leave feeling discouraged, and to hopefully ignite a love of music in them as well. She can't wait to see what her students are capable of.
