Stephanie Syphus’ love of music began at the young age of five, when she started the piano—and attributes her dedication for it to her mother’s continued support, encouragement, influence. She has now played piano for 20 years, guitar for twelve, and has been singing as long as she can remember! Her love of music has led her to play in many venues behind her piano or with her guitar, and always accompanied by her vocals.
At the age of 16, Stephanie produced a CD of entirely original music and it sold across multiple states. Also at 16, she began her own successful music teaching business for piano, guitar, and voice in the greater Phoenix area with over 30 students.
In high school, she participated in honors choir, while also acting as Choir President for two years, held a top chair in the Arizona All-State Choir, and received numerous superior ratings in the Arizona Piano Study Program.
After high school and a few semesters in choir at Concordia College, she transferred to BYU-Idaho where she participated in the BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers for three years. During that time, she earned a degree in music and continued her music teaching business.
After college, Stephanie moved to Utah and taught independently until coming to The Piano Place and currently accompanies her local church choir. Stephanie’s goal is to share her love of music with others and give them the gift of being able to enrich their own lives through her passion and instruction.
When Stephanie isn’t practicing or teaching, she enjoys doing Crossfit, playing board games with her family, and taking care of her two children, Cade and Capri.
