Piano, Voice | Lehi / Highland

Tagaloa has been studying piano and voice since he was 4 years old. Although he wasn’t the biggest fan of practicing early on, eventually he grew to love music so much that he started practicing on his own! Tag’s love and passion for music would extend into high school as a secondary accompanist for choir, his time as a missionary, and then into the commercial music program at Snow College, where he has studied for the last four years. Tag moved to Provo to further extend his musical and acting reach. The biggest thing for him in music is understanding the feel and emotion of a piece. This is often a step that’s approached after the technicalities of form, technique, and accuracy have been achieved. Notes are just notes; it’s the performer that breathes life and a story into it. Tag focuses heavily on the inner rhythmic clock, and making sure the message and heart of the song isn’t lost. If a student isn’t enjoying a certain piece, he can help break down what they like or don’t like, and adjust each student’s lessons to their own goals and passions. Tag’s main goal in lessons is to make sure that his students are having the most fun they can have, while learning and practicing great music as they go!

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
