Zjanelle

Guitar, Violin, Voice | Bountiful, Farmington

Zjanelle (ZJ) has been passionate about music for as long as she can remember. She is self taught on multiple instruments such as the piano, guitar, drums, harmonica, bass, drums, etc. ZJ finally decided to take her music career to the next level and decided to take violin lessons in 2014. Throughout her high school years, she performed competitively and received an array of high ranking scores in solo violin competitions despite being fairly new to the instrument. ZJ is walking proof that passion and a little hard work can take you wherever you want it to. In 2018, ZJ fell in love with song writing. She joined 2 bands, one of which she was the lead vocalist. She also played the violin, piano, and acoustic guitar in this band. The other was solely violin based where she read and played sheet music written by the band’s main creative member. These bands brought her a lot of performance and recording opportunities with current and new bands, opportunities to write her own music, and created an even larger spark in her passion for music. Though she still practices on a consistent basis, ZJ took a break from pursuing her music career in 2020 to focus on raising her newborn son. She emphasizes that she wants to show her students that music can be exactly what they want it to be. Whether it be a classical career route, a more avant-garde approach, or just an outlet to express oneself. Music is a beautiful thing to ZJ, and if she can fuel the same spark she saw in her younger self for even just one person, her life would be fulfilled.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
