Alyssa's passion and love for music started when she was young. With the encouragement of her musical parents, she pursued piano lessons at the age of 7 and later participated in the National Music Federation Junior Festival from 2004-2013, receiving Superior rankings each year. Alyssa still enjoys playing the piano and accompanying her sisters. Alyssa is also a talented vocalist. From a young age, she has been singing with her sisters in a variety of settings and has been involved in multiple choirs in church, community, and school. From 2010-2014, she was in her high school concert choir and madrigal choir from 2012-2014. During those times, she had the incredible opportunities to participate in UMEA Honor Choirs (Spring of 2011-2013) as well as the UMEA All-State Choir (Fall of 2013). Alyssa was also selected to be one of the student rehearsal accompanists for the concert choir her senior year. Alyssa has always had a love for learning and teaching. After graduating from high school, Alyssa pursued a degree in Elementary Education. She attended Snow College for her associates degree, where she also participated in the A'Cappella choir, and then furthered her education at Southern Utah University to receive her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Since then, Alyssa has had several teaching opportunities. She spent a semester teaching English in China, one year of teaching fourth grade, and two years of preschool in a private school setting. Alyssa is absolutely thrilled to start her journey at The Piano Place and hopes to inspire a life-long passion of piano playing and deep appreciation of music.
