Bethany has been playing the violin since she was 8 years old. She has participated in the Utah Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Logan Utah Cache Valley Symphony Orchestra, and BYU-Idaho's University Orchestra. During her early years in Utah, Bethany was an active member of both the South Davis Junior High orchestra and the Woods Cross High School orchestra. She also sang in her high school’s Concert Choir and Madrigals singing group.
As part of her developing musicianship in junior high and high school, Bethany performed violin solos, quartets, duets, and trios in annual solo and ensemble competitions each February. Her exceptional performances earned her Superior Ratings at both the district and state levels. On one of her high school music department trips to California, Bethany was one of ten students selected from hundreds to receive a Soloist Maestro Award for her violin solo as concertmaster of the orchestra.
In the summer of 2022, Bethany showcased her skills as a pioneer fiddler with the Performing Arts Crew at This is The Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
