Dylan

Drums | Lehi / Highland, Saratoga Springs

Dylan has been playing drums since 2008. What started as a nerdy obsession with Guitar Hero and Rock Band turned into a passion that has carried him throughout his life. He has studied with various instructors and achieved an Associate of Arts from the College of Southern Nevada. He was also accepted to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In that time, he performed with the school's Concert and Jazz bands as well as The Desert Winds, a community band operating in the Las Vegas area. He has also studied piano and voice to a lesser degree, and through that has been able to write songs and perform parts not typically associated with drummers, helping him understand a greater level of musical awareness with his primary instrument. Dylan has studied a wide variety of music genres ranging from pop, jazz, latin, funk and others. His main passion, however, has generally been rock and all its various subgenres. He has released albums and toured the country with the Alternative/Hard Rock group Astral Tree and the Punk Rock group Modifiers. In this experience, he has worked with the likes of Punk Rock icons Pete Steinkopf and Greg Hetson from The Bouncing Souls and Bad Religion respectively. In addition, he has performed with the likes of the Alternative Rock band Wysh, Classic Rock acts such as The Velvet Moon Band and Doc Synizter and the Deathroad Motor Zombies, the grunge band Addiction Switch and the more modern sounds of Las Vegas-based artist Kevin Bessey. Dylan began teaching as a hobby in 2016 to help his friends and family learn his favorite instrument. He began teaching professionally in 2024 and continues to help students achieve their goals in a friendly and fun manner. He believes in patiently speaking to the students on their level without frustration. Students know he is there to help them first and foremost and that he will help students achieve their goals and prepare them for what the world of music has to offer.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
