Kyle LeCheminant has been immersed in music from a very young age. With a mother who taught piano, he began his musical journey under her guidance for seven years. Everything changed, however, when he saw a high school band concert and was captivated by the drummer—that moment sparked a lifelong passion for percussion.
Kyle’s drumming journey began in an unconventional way: playing the video game Rock Band. By the time he first sat behind a real drum set, he was already prepared to join his school’s jazz band. Throughout his school years, Kyle was actively involved in wind symphonies, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, and rock bands with friends, all while taking private lessons with Dan Chamberlain. He continued his musical studies at both Southern Utah University and Utah State University.
With over 20 years of musical experience—and 13 years focused on drums—Kyle currently performs with five different bands. He plays a wide variety of styles at venues across Utah and occasionally tours with bands across the country. Kyle is passionate about sharing the joy and energy of drumming and looks forward to helping students discover just how fun and rewarding playing the drums can be.
