Rachel

Piano | Draper

Rachel has loved music from an early age. She used to beg her parents to put her in piano lessons after watching her older siblings play. Since that time, Rachel's love for music, especially playing the piano, has only grown, and she has developed a similar love for teaching and for music theory. Rachel pursued music in college, receiving a Bachelors in Piano Performance at Brigham Young University - Idaho in 2021, and going on to pursue a Master's in Music Theory from Michigan State University in 2024. Through her schooling, Rachel was able to gain a lot of experience in teaching, as well as get involved with the Music Teacher's National Association collegiate chapter at BYU-I, where she served as president for two years and presented at the Collegiate Symposium in 2021. Rachel is excited to share her love for music. She deeply values her students as individuals and prioritizes creating an atmosphere that makes learning music fun and enjoyable. She is also very passionate about teaching her students how to effectively practice so that they can be more independent with their learning.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
