Raquel

Piano | Pleasant Grove

Raquel has been playing piano since 2016. Her love for music began at age 12, when she started singing in her church choir and even played guitar for a few years. When she began to take piano lessons, she realized how well classical music resonated with her. She later joined the Applied Music Program at El Camino College. Ms. Raquel obtained her Associate’s in Music with Honors from El Camino College, where she studied under Dr. Polli Chambers-Salazar. Ms. Raquel also received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education Summa Cum Laude in 2022 studying under Dr. Zachary Deak at California State University of Los Angeles. Ms. Raquel began teaching piano in 2019. She has taught for charter schools, private schools, and even homeschool students. She specializes in classical music, but also enjoys teaching pop music. Ms. Raquel is friendly and professional, and often incorporates fun games into lessons for students to learn proper form and technique. She believes that each student has their own way of learning and wants to stay true to that for each student and each lesson. Students should be able to learn self-motivation and expression through music they can really enjoy. Ms. Raquel is very excited to continue to pursue piano education and enjoys sharing her passion of music with others.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
