Welcome to Our Salt Lake City Studio!

You asked, we listened!

Our families and students requested a Salt Lake location for years, and it finally happened! The Piano Place Salt Lake studio is now accepting students, and we can’t wait to get to know a new group of learners as they start their adventure in music education!

But first, we want to introduce you to our new studio director, Sam Hayes.

Sam is a lifelong music enthusiast with a degree in Piano Performance and years of teaching expertise, both through the University of Utah’s Piano Outreach Program and private lessons for the University’s Piano Preparatory class.

Outside of her experience at the U, Sam also received special training to work with students with ADHD, Autism, and other special needs. Her experience and community connections  make her a perfect fit for our Salt Lake studio, and we know you’ll love working with her as much as we do.

In addition to Sam’s fantastic leadership skills, our Salt Lake studio offers students unique opportunities to interact with the music community at both the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.

We envision our studio as a stepping stone for  students hoping to study music at either the U of U or SLCC, and becoming familiar with the faculty and programs at a young age is an ideal way to start planning for a future in music study on the collegiate level.

Additionally, our studio’s central Salt Lake City location means we will be able to help our students find multiple volunteer performance opportunities. Part of what makes our studios different is our dedication to unique performance experiences, and our belief that music lessons should “make more than musicians.”

This means that our students should leave the studio knowing more than just how to play an instrument. Instead, we want to instill each of our learners with the confidence and ability to serve their communities through music.

While we love our fun and unique studio recitals and public performances, we know that  music performed as an act of service is often one of the most impactful ways a student can share the gift of music with others.

As the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, we hope to facilitate service opportunities for our students to perform at Primary Children’s Hospital, the Veteran’s Hospital, and nearby senior care facilities. It’s our goal to truly become an integral part of the community and share our love of music with both our students and our SLC neighbors.

Our Salt Lake Studio is up and running, and currently accepting new students for the following lessons:

  • Guitar
  • Piano
  • Songwriting
  • Ukulele
  • Violin
  • Voice
  • Drums

Each of our instructors are so excited to meet their new students and begin building the relationships that make learning at The Piano Place a truly meaningful experience. We know that no two students are alike, so we take special care to match each of our students with the instructor that can best meet their needs. Feel free to contact us at any time with questions, or simply start the enrollment process online.

See you soon, Salt Lake City!

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
