Anne has been sharing her passion for music through teaching voice and piano since 2012. With a comprehensive understanding of both instruments, she offers expertise across various genres, with a particular emphasis on contemporary and classical for piano, and musical theater styles for voice.
Her musical journey began at the Peery Piano Academy under the tutelage of Christie Peery Skousen, where she later worked as a teacher from 2012 to 2018 while also continuing her own training. Currently pursuing a BFA in Music Dance Theater from BYU, Anne has honed her vocal skills through lessons with esteemed instructors such as Betsy Andrews Johnson, Malia Morris, Cindy Dewey, and Korianne Orton-Johnson.
“Anne's dedication to her craft has been recognized through her achievements, including two first-place awards in the NATS semifinals undergraduate musical theater category in 2018 and 2019. She’s been cast in musicals at theaters across Utah including Pickleville Playhouse, Hale Center Theater Orem, and the BYU MainStage.
Her involvement with BYU's Young Ambassadors further highlights her commitment to musical excellence.
As a teacher, Anne is passionate about enriching the lives of her students through music. She strives to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel encouraged, accountable, and excited about their progress. Whether nurturing a hobby or pursuing a pre-professional track, Anne tailors her lessons to meet the individual needs and goals of each student.
For piano students, Anne excels in developing well-rounded musicians proficient in various styles. Voice students benefit from her extensive experience in auditioning for live theater, as she integrates audition tips seamlessly into lessons. Anne's ultimate goal is to help students discover their love for music and equip them with the skills they need to find joy and success in their musical journey.
