Emmit officially became a drummer in 2006 and hasn't stopped drumming since. He started taking private lessons when he was eight years old, and was part of a music program that had him start playing in bands from the age of ten. Since then, being in at least one band has been a regular part of Emmit’s life. He has a love for rock and metal music. The first song he ever learned on the drums was Enter Sandman by Metallica. In 2017, he was introduced to teaching music through volunteering at Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls, where he taught bass and drums in a group setting. After discovering a love for it, he began to teach private lessons and further hone his teaching approach. He has an unwavering commitment to creating a supportive, positive, and student-focused learning environment where students feel safe and motivated to grow. In addition to teaching, Emmit has extensive performance and recording experience across rock, metal, blues, and alternative genres. He is also a bassist, a singer, and is plenty familiar with guitar and piano. He brings his knowledge of many musical perspectives to his artistry as a musician and encourages such application and curiosity in his students.
