KC Carrillo has been playing drums and percussion since 2011. They have played drums for various artists and groups ranging from indie rock to hip hop/pop and Punk artists. KC has experience playing in Marching band, Percussion ensembles, concert bands and Jazz bands. As well as experience in recording drum parts in studios, and playing live concerts and shows. KC has been teaching Drums and Percussion since 2018. They have taught all kinds of drumming and skill levels ranging from classical concert snare, to Jazz and Latin drumming, to rock/pop/fusion drumming and even hand percussion/auxiliary like Congas, Bongos, Djembe and various other instruments. KC has a passion for music and drumming and likes to start with students interests and favorite artists/type of music. KC is a teacher who will set clear goals with students from the start and set clear practice expectations and steps to reach student's goals and keep them engaged. So that they are aware of what kind of practice and work needs to be done outside of lessons. As well as show the student and their parents that they are making progress and learning along the way. Music helps us express and process emotions that are difficult to describe in words. KC's main intention for students is to teach them how to express themselves through music and through drumming. They have seen how practice and self discipline through learning drumming and music in their own experience has applied to other aspects in life, and they want to help students be able to apply what is learned in drumming lessons with all other aspects in life.
