Lindsey Lee Pope has a bachelor’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from Utah State University, where she was fortunate to have studied with Dr. Kevin Olson, and Professors Hilary Coombs-Vaclavic, Gary Amano, and Luke Hancock. While at Utah State, she taught both private piano lessons, and group theory classes for 4 years through USU’s Youth Conservatory. She was also an accompanist for many vocalists, and instrumentalists and greatly enjoyed collaborating with other musicians. Lindsey has played the piano for over 18 years, and has been through all 10 levels of the AIM program, participated in various competitions, and has recently given a solo recital at Utah State University in Logan. In addition to furthering her own musical education, Lindsey has been teaching for over 10 years. Since moving to Draper, she began teaching in her own studio and subsequently joined the Piano Place in the summer of 2016. Lindsey thoroughly believes in a well-rounded musical education, and focuses lessons on elements of theory, technique, performance, and history. She knows the importance of music study and the personal growth it can lend to daily life for students of all ages. As such, Lindsey continues her own musical education by taking lessons whenever possible, and is a member of the Utah Music Teachers Association, as well as the Music Teachers National Association. She works often with both groups in judging and orchestrating competitions, recitals, and the Achievement in Music (AIM) program. She is also working with The Piano Place to develop a new technique and theory curriculum for each student to follow. It is important to her that the students graduating from The Piano Place have solid foundations, and the skills they need to succeed with wherever their musical pursuits take them. At the root of Lindsey’s teaching is the knowledge that there are few joys in life greater than sharing and truly understanding music. There is no greater accomplishment for her than to help her students be successful in their musical endeavors, and bring the joy of music to their own lives and the lives of those close to them.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
