Megan

Megan has been playing the piano since 2006 and the violin since 2012—and she has loved every minute of it! Growing up, she was the kid who figured out how to play songs she heard in movies or on the radio by ear and eagerly learned every new piece she could get her hands on. Her passion for music led her to perform in community projects, competitions, and school ensembles. Her achievements include Utah Southwest Region Sterling Scholar in Music in high school, Allies 2 Refugees benefit concert, and Valedictorian for the College of Performing and Visual Arts at Southern Utah University. When Megan began college, she discovered that she loved teaching just as much as performing. That inspired her to pursue a degree in Music Education, allowing her to help others discover their own passion for music. She has been teaching since 2022 and is excited to continue for many more years. Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the first time, refining their technique, or diving into music theory, Megan is committed to guiding them every step of the way. She believes learning music should be both challenging and enjoyable, and her lessons are filled with hard work, laughter, and a genuine passion for helping every student become the best musician they can be. A few things to know about Megan’s teaching style: * All genres are welcome. Megan has a deep love for music theory and enjoys teaching any style her students are excited about, although classical music holds a special place in her heart. * High love, high expectations. Megan believes in setting high expectations because she knows her students are capable of great things.
