Samantha began piano lessons at the age of 10 after years of begging her parents for lessons, she immediately became enamored and her love for piano has blossomed ever since. In high school, Samantha transferred to study under Juliet Preston, designer of the Achievement In Music Program. Samantha then became the organist at her church and the accompanist for the high school jazz band, choirs, winter drumline, and orchestra.
Auditioning for University, Samantha earned several awards and scholarships in music. She was the Regional Sterling Scholar for Music in 2015, Huff Competition 2014 Winner, Miss Payson 2015 second attendant, and received many scholarships including the Gerald B. Tracy Piano Endowment, the Dahlquist Music Scholarship, the Exemplary Achievement Award, the George P. Bowers Scholarship, and various academic scholarships.
While in college at the University of Utah, Samantha majored in Piano Performance under Jeffrey Price. Through the U, Samantha volunteered for the Piano Outreach Program and the University’s Piano Preparatory Class. Sam also volunteered at Primary Children's Hospital, assisting in the music therapy room and playing piano in the lobby.
In 2019, Samantha graduated college and began teaching 70 private students under the studio The Piano Place; eventually she became the Piano Place Salt Lake Studio Director where she now teaches just 40 students privately and directs a staff of 21 teachers. She now has students participating in the Salt Lake Piano Competition, AIM Program, and Federation and has helped judge several competitions and evaluations. She arranges sheet music for her students and is a published signature artist for the website musicnotes.com. She is excited to help bring to the next generation all the opportunities and joy music has brought her in life thus far.
