Viola, Violin | Rexburg

Talmage Kay began violin lessons at age 8 and added viola at 11. He has performed with multiple orchestras including the BYU-Idaho Symphony, Cache Symphony, and Northern Utah Youth Symphony. Since 2019, he has taught violin privately, including to students with special needs. He holds numerous honors such as exceptional points in state solo and ensemble, and placed 2nd in Boise State's 2025 quartet competition. Talmage is pursuing studies in Computer Science and Music at BYU-Idaho and speaks French. Talmage's teaching style centers on making each lesson musically engaging, fostering independence, and focusing on good technique. He expects students to come prepared and enjoys creating a fun, encouraging learning environment.
