Ty is a passionate pianist, keyboardist, teacher, and composer. He studied music theory, sight singing and rhythm for two years at the U of Utah. He is a blues and new age pianist, has studied and practiced jazz improvisation for several years, and has 30+ original new age instrumental compositions. Ty took piano lessons from age 8 to 18 and completed the John Schaum and John Thompson methods. His piano teacher and mentor was his grandfather (a master pianist and composer) who taught hundreds of students over several decades. Ty learned first hand that if you're making constant progress and having fun with your piano lessons, then you'll stick with it for the long haul. He believes the skills and confidence learned from successful piano lessons carry over into all other areas of students' lives. His mission is to instill a love and passion for the piano and music into each and every student.
