Valerie

Piano, Violin, Voice | Saratoga Springs

Valerie loves music and has been involved in teaching and performance since 1990. Her philosophy is, 'Help students be successful every step of the way - the more successful, the more fun, the more fun, the more successful.' Valerie comes from a long background of singers and musicians. She's multi-instrumental, graduating from Utah Tech University with a Bachelor in Integrated Studies - Theatre Arts and Business Administration. She has performed at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitor Center, the St. George Tabernacle, Utah Tech University, Brigham's Playhouse, the Dickens Festival and many other venues. She's taken part either as a performer or director in festivals, theatre groups, choirs, solos, quartets, small ensembles of all sizes, and orchestras. Valerie's passion is teaching. Valerie loves to see her students succeed, she loves to find the spark in each student and help them discover how amazing music is and how amazing they are through music. Valerie has experience in various genres such as classical, sacred, jazz, rock, pop, hip-hop and musical theatre and she is uniquely able to help bring the love of music to her students through these outlets. Valerie's vocal training includes vocal instruction from the excellent Lisa Seegmiller, Jessica West, and Ken Peterson. Music has the power to change your mood, to literally elevate your academic test scores, to help you concentrate, to teach you discipline, to bring you to a place you've never been before, to heighten all your senses, and to anchor, calm and elevate you in a way that nothing else has power to do. Valerie has seen first hand the gift that music brings to people, both to hear and to give music to others. It changes lives, and she wants to give that gift to her students.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
