William

Piano, Songwriting, Voice | Salt Lake, South Jordan

William began piano at age 10, and started lessons at 12 which he continued until he attended Utah Valley University. While at school, he studied choral music education and assistant taught/tutored and accompanied Chamber, Men’s, Womenss, and Concert choirs, as well as music theory, group piano, conducting, and private voice. William also participated in multiple vocal and instrumental ensembles with multiple concerts and shows each semester. During his sophomore year he began teaching privately while he focused his schooling on a commercial music and songwriting emphasis. At the end of his schooling he spent time developing his vocal curriculum and giving private recitals. Over the next years he graduated, continued teaching privately, as well as worked in multiple schools teaching choir and general music. William has a student-centered approach, and is dedicated to helping students achieve their personal musical goals as well as developing collaborative and creative skills that lend themselves to a functioning lifelong musician. He enjoys working with beginners, and finds inspiration in his students' progress and musical growth. His students are often great sight readers but also specialize in playing by ear and singing while playing. William is married and loves spending time with his wife, his dogs, the mountains, and whatever music he is recently most obsessed with.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
