Honors Recital Auditions

The Honors Recital is a unique opportunity for those who have mastered their music and made great strides this year to come together and put on an amazing hour-long show. The students selected for this recital will be chosen by audition.

Students of all ages and levels are encouraged to try out. If you do decide to audition, be sure to talk to your teacher, they will be able to help you prepare and give you some audition tips. Our judges will be looking for the following criteria:

Audition Requirements:

  • Songs memorized (highly recommended)
  • Songs should be no longer than 3:00 minutes
  • Pieces are expected to be:
    • Fluid with no pauses
    • Played with proper dynamics and emotion
    • Completely up to tempo
    • Demonstrate accuracy of notes and rhythm

We can only select a limited number of students, so not everyone who auditions will be chosen to perform. Even if you don't make it, it's still an excellent opportunity to receive feedback on your piece.

Draper, Lehi, South Jordan, Sandy, Salt Lake, Pleasant Grove, and Saratoga Springs Studios:

We will be having a Juniors (ages 11 and below) and a Seniors (ages 12+) Honors Recital. These will be combined for the Draper, Lehi, South Jordan, Sandy, Salt Lake, Pleasant Grove, and Saratoga Springs studios.

  • Auditions: November 8th @ Riverton Music in Sandy
  • Auditions every 8 minutes from 3pm - 7:00pm
  • Junior Honors Recital: 12/9 @ 7:15 pm
  • Senior Honors Recital: 12/9 @ 8:15 pm

Farmington & Bountiful Studios:

  • We will have one combined Honors Recital for all ages and levels. This show will be combined for the Farmington and Bountiful studios.
    • Auditions: November 18th @ Bountiful Davis Arts Center in Bountiful
    • Auditions every 8 minutes from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
    • Honors Recital: 12/9 @ 7:00 pm

We will have one combined Honors Recital for all ages and levels. This show will be for the St. George Studio.

  • Auditions: November 11th @ The Piano Place St. George Sunset Studio
  • Auditions every 8 minutes from 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Honors Recital: 12/2 @ 7:00 pm
